Nucleareurope partcipates in ENLIT 2023!

On 29 November 2023, nucleareurope Director General, Yves Desbazeille, participated in a panel discussion around the topic of a nuclear renaissance during the ENLIT conference which was held in Paris (France) this week. During his intervention, Yves highlighted why things are different this time around when it comes to nuclear.

In this respect, he noted that public perception towards nuclear has clearly shifted in a much more favourable direction. Linked to this, policymakers from a growing number of EU Member States now recognise the added value of including nuclear in a low-carbon and sustainable energy system.  

At the same time he reflected on some of the challenges which will need to be tackled if we are to achieve the ambitious targets which have been set in terms of 2050 nuclear capacity.  These include ensuring that industry is ready to meet this target and that adequate financing is made available to ensure these long-term projects.
